The Royal Reckoning
At the crux of his life, Arush wakes up in the hospital three years into the past. With no memory of the time that has already passed, he moves back to India, hoping to start anew. His family stands by him through every step and every new reality he’s forced to confront as a man who’s still living in the past. As the pieces of time start to fit, there’s one that doesn’t seem to make sense. A piece that is paradoxical to the otherwise harmony of this puzzle. It has a name. Nicholas Hayes. The man brings with himself secrets, deaths, and an absurd truth— that they were in love? That is impossible. But as reality warps around everything he thought he knew, Arush begins to wonder if Nicholas Hayes was ever a paradox at all. Or if he was always the truth.

paradox noun a situation or statement with two or more parts that seem strange or impossible together Meeting him was not fate. It was a collision of coincidences coalescing into a moment none of us anticipated. We are paradoxical. We do not fit. Why? We are men. And we are in love. How strange is that? But Nicholas Hayes is strange. He is a curve in my perfectly symmetrical life, bending everything around him. And he shifts my axis, becomes the rest of my life. But we're both hiding secrets. He knows mine. I don't know his. And that's where this paradox falls apart. That's when it starts making sense. Was it really a coincidence? Or was it always fate?
